Midwest Classic Golf with Tom Sutton

Midwest Classic Golf with Tom Sutton is an entertaining and exciting  television program, catering to the exploding growth of golfers right here in the Midwest. Host Tom Sutton, is a veteran sportscaster of 25 years in Milwaukee on ABC. He has produced an award winning golfing series for 18 seasons, in addition to his winning of a gold medal in the New York International Film and Television Festival. On Midwest Classic Golf, Tom will tee it up on the "Signature" holes of the toughest and newest courses in the Midwest. From Whistling Straits, host of the 2007 Senior Open, to Erin Hills, the hottest course in the Midwest. Tom shows his audience where to play, where to stay and where to have fun.

This weeks Show

One of my all-time favorite spots for golf and just to get away is in Green Lake Wisconsin, and this week, the Midwest Classic Golf cameras are focusing in on The Courses at Lawsonia Links right there in the heart of Green Lake.
As a golfer you have two choices, both of which are spot on. My favorite of the two championship tracs is The Links. It was built back in the 30's and has maintained it's appeal throughout. New renovated tee's have lengthened this magnificent course to just under 69 hundred yards. When you're there, play it!
Right next to the Links is the Woodlands, which was built back in the 80's. These two courses are distinctively different. One with out trees, the other lined with Wisconsin hardwood on every fairway. That is the key to coming here, two great, but totally different plays. Watch the show and I'm sure you will be on your way up to green Lake to play at Lawsonia.

What's New
The 2008 season is up and running here at Midwest Classic Golf. The first two shows featuring new courses in the Midwest,..Wild Rock over at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, and Erin Hills in Erin Wisconsin.
Both of these properties are outstanding and one's you need to put down on your to do list this summer.
Also coming up in "08", the Midwest Classic cameras were out in Napa Valley...and what a treat that was. This is a great alternative if you will be looking for someplace warm and friendly on your next "point of destination" golf journey. Great Golf, Fantastic food...Wine? are you kidding me? We're talking Napa Valley!
If you are serious about doing a trip there, here's a recommendation. Call Napa Valley Bike Tours, 707-944-2953 and ask for Cindy. She can set up your entire vacation. This would include lodging, golf, dinner reservations, bike tours through the Vineyards and tasting, and even a hot air balloon experience.
As we will show you on a later episode, this is a great alternative for a group or couple that want to experience it all. Make sure to play at Chardonnay Golf Club. 27 holes right through vineyards...a totally unique feeling off the tees. As far as dinning, you can't go wrong at any stop, but my favorite was Celadon in Napa along with ZuZu's. Keep watching! and keep em in the fairway!
