This weeks Show

The 2008 season of Midwest Classic Golf flew by and now it's time to look ahead  for next year. Lots of great destinations for my viewers.

The Midwest Classic Golf Cameras will be rolling in Jamaica, Hawaii, and Newport Beach, California. All three of these destinations will give you something to think about when the snow is falling and the temps plummet here in the Midwest. We'll also be headed over to Minnesota for some new courses and elsewhere here in the Heartland of golf. Make sure your with us, as it's always a fun journey!

What's New
I really don't have to tell you ...but it's getting cold outside, and that means time to look for some great Point of Destination values with lots of sun  out there. With that in mind, let me tell you about my stop in Gulfport Mississippi a week ago. I stayed at the Island View Casino Hotel and played their course Windance, What a treat! First the Casino Hotel is top shelf, rooms are spectacular , and they have an Emeril's restaurant right on site, so you need not go far for a great dinner.
Windance was purchased by Island View so that they would have a great course for people that stayed at the Casino. They have some fantastic packages available and the course was outstanding, A former Country Club, Windance opens on either nine with houses on one side of the fairway. One hole later, you are deep into the Southern Mississippi woods complete with Spanish moss on the trees, water everywhere and wonderful views, no one else to be seen, this is a great play.
There are a lot of golfers that still think that Gulfport and Biloxi haven't come back from Hurricane Katrina. Not So. They're back and are welcoming everyone on down for a great time. I recommend both the Island View Casino and Windance to all my golfing fans. It's warm, friendly and most of all a great time, check it out.

Hidden Treasures

I've had a lot of you either call or e-mail me asking about Rolling Hills just north of Oconomowoc Wisconsin. The question was, is it private or now open to the public, and is it the old Lac La Belle Country Club. The answer is, it is open to the public and yes it's the old CC. I had a chance to play it recently and what a treat! Great course and very affordable. Here's the deal. It's like you have your own private CC, as they treat you that well. The Course? Short but very challenging. Rolling Fairways, and tight, mature trees all over the course, and elevated greens. This is truly a treat to play.

My suggestion? Give Charles Wood a call, tell him I told you to head over and play, and trust me, you will really  enjoy the experience at Rolling Hills. Just another Hidden treasure here in the Midwest.

Do you have one? Let me know about it, and I'll give it a play and rate it.
